She continued her leadership role with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office in Texas, where she developed a Firearms Unit and achieved accreditation to ANAB ISO standards.
In a standout international role, Stephanie was personally recommended by the U.S. government to assist the Moroccan government in building a Firearms Unit from the ground up. Over 16 months, she successfully led the unit’s development and trained examiners to achieve ANAB accreditation under ISO standards in Casablanca. This was Morocco’s first accredited Firearms Unit.
Stephanie has extensive experience providing expert testimony in state and federal courts across the United States. Known for her objective, science-driven analysis, she has earned a reputation for integrity and ethics in the field of firearm and tool mark identification. Stephanie currently serves as an adjunct professor at the Oklahoma State University and is the Firearms Subject Matter Expert on the Graduate Research Advisory Committee for the Forensic Science Institute within the University of Central Oklahoma. Additionally, she is a published author, a member of multiple forensic associations, and serves on various committees within AFTE.
In 2019, she founded SCL Forensics to deliver expert consulting, casework, and training services—supporting agencies across the U.S. and internationally with a strong commitment to professionalism and high-quality forensics.
My objective is clear: To deliver high-quality forensic services to those in need by connecting clients with experts who uphold the highest ethical standards, and to ensure timely, accurate results that support truth and justice.
